FileMaker error 800 when creating PDF files

FileMaker error 800 is being discussed in several FileMaker forums. The error message states reasons such as "Hard disc full" or "No write permissions". This is misleading! It is also possible that the path name or the file name is invalid or contains invalid characters such as / or : depending on the operating system used.
Another reason that fell on our feet: The print layout contains fonts that are not installed in the system! If you change the fonts defined in the fields to the system font "Arial", the error no longer occurs and the PDF export works.
